Lauren Aldrich grew up in Seattle and graduated from Western Washington University in Bellingham. Throughout her life, the dramatic Pacific Northwest landscape has infused her artistic sensibilities. The abundance of trees and bumps on the horizon imparted a true love of these natural forms which have manifested themselves in much of her work.

In addition to this, Lauren is fascinated by the concept of anthropomorphism. Her paintings are essentially human portraits. Each scene, landscape and character collects and reflects a breadth of emotions and experiences acquired by every human throughout life. Lauren is continually excited by the possibility that each viewer will find a piece of him or herself in her work.
